Chad Griffin
Partner
Chad Griffin, managing partner of G|S, a strategic communications and strategy firm has spent his career taking on the toughest fights against the most entrenched, well-financed interests like tobacco, oil and the right-wing to shape the policy debate around some of the nation's most important issues, including clean energy, universal health care, global climate change, stem cell research, early childhood education, and equal rights. A veteran of the Clinton White House communications team, Griffin was the youngest staffer ever to serve in the West Wing.
From his experiences in the White House and from leading a series of successful ballot initiatives and change campaigns, Griffin has developed a campaign-style approach to communications that has become his professional trademark. He’s used that trademark and his expertise in crisis and litigation communications to build a name for himself. Harnessing the hard-nosed, fast-paced style of the political world, the passion of the philanthropic community, the strategy of the business sector and the creativity of the entertainment industry, Griffin has helped to advance the causes of a powerful roster of change-making clients such as U.S. Green Building Council, philanthropist Steve Bing, children’s welfare and civil rights advocates Michelle & Rob Reiner, entertainment executive Chris Albrecht, filmmakers Janet & Jerry Zucker and Doug Wick & Lucy Fisher, CuresNow, the Entertainment Industry Foundation, CH2M HILL, Advanced Cell Technology, The California Endowment, The Walmart Foundation, The American Foundation for Equal Rights, and Al Gore's Live Earth global concert series. Griffin's experience and expertise have made him a go-to resource for reporters at the intersections of Hollywood and politics, and he is regularly quoted by both national and international media. In fact, Griffin joined Al Gore and Keith Olbermann as one of The Advocate magazine's 2008 People of the Year and was named one of Details magazine’s 2010 Mavericks. Griffin is on the board of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation and is cofounder and board member of the American Foundation for Equal Rights. Griffin is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and currently resides in Los Angeles and New York City.
